You just need a few simple ingredients, the same ones our grandma used to make very tasty fried chicken wings, very similar to those found at Ponggol Nasi Lemak and Eng Kee Chicken Wings. Other parts of a chicken or even a whole spring chicken, can be used with this recipe. You can eat these wings on their own or with nasi lemak or fried bee hoon. Happy cooking!

  • 3 tbsps light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • A generous amount of ground white pepper
  • Batter

  • 40g (1.41 oz) rice flour
  • 20g (0.7 oz) plain flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsps MSG
  • A few dashes of white pepper
  • 190ml (6.42 fl oz) water
