SWEET RICE DUMPLINGS With Banana and Taro - Khao Tom
Sweet rice dumplings (Khao tom) is a Laotian dessert made with glutinous rice, bananas, taro, coconut cream, and sugar. You can use sweet potatoes, yams, or cooked beans instead of taro. This recipe will take few hours to make. It is not hard to make but it’s time consuming on the preparation. You can leave out the cooked Khao Tom at room temperature for a couple days without going bad. I usually make a lot and I freeze them. Whenever I have cravings just thaw and warm it up. This dessert is very filling if you eat two of them you won’t be hungry for hours.
