Steamed Chicken with Shredded Szechuan Preserved Vegetables is one of our favourite Chinese dishes to make at home. It's a very simple yet super delicious dish that combines tender steamed chicken with the bold and savoury flavours of Szechuan preserved vegetables. Cooking it in a rice cooker is a quick and easy way to make this dish. All you have to do is to marinate the chicken ahead of time and place it in the rice cooker to cook alongside the rice.

  • 280g (9.88 oz) boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 spring onion stem, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • A few drops of cooking oil
  • 80g (2.82 oz) Szechuan vegetables
  • 1 red chilli, deseeded & julienned
